Through strategies such as Poverty Reduction, all the Skills to Succeed and Investing in Economic Development and Diversification, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has shown the importance of adult continuing education to the overall economic prosperity of the province of NL. In the provincial government’s vision to empower people there is significant investments being made to make sure there is an educated, high-qualified, skilled workforce to meet the labour market demands associated with the increase in economic activities.
Each region of the province is building on its identified strengths to create new industries and employment opportunities. These strategies are to be supported by advanced education and training. By increasing labour market participation, there will be an increase in prospects for people and continued growth to the economy.
